Here we go. Gouache is officially a thing. I'm very happy with the organic shapes and how they interact with the embroidery and the photography. It could add more visual interest if the color of the paint contrasted with the thread, though Erica is an example of that not exactly working, so I should be careful and exercise restraint. I'm still considering adding or altering the background/surrounding space, but I'm not sure what I would do yet. I also may go back and add gouache to some of the existing pieces.
Now onto the idea(s).
I have an idea. I don't know how this idea came about, but it popped into my head and it won't leave. I want to do an animation where each frame is embroidered. It is a thing. I may do it as an extension of this project, exploring the changing identity of a person or the growth and maturity of a person. In terms of practicality, though, I'm a little bit worried about how long this will take if I work with 24 frames per second. I may have to reduce the frame rate for it to be sustainable and not wear away at my sanity. For now, I'm really liking this idea and will probably start storyboarding by the end of the week to get an idea of the feasibility.
